About Al-Hikma Foundation

Al-Hikma Foundation is a registered non-profit organization under the Voluntary Social Service Organizations Act No. 31 of 1980 in Sri Lanka. Since its establishment, Al-Hikma has been devoted to serving communities in need through humanitarian, educational, and social development programs that bring positive and lasting change to people’s lives.

Our philosophy is deeply rooted in faith-based values that emphasize compassion, mercy, and service to others. We believe that every individual deserves dignity, opportunity, and the means to live a fulfilling life. Guided by this belief, we work tirelessly to reach the most vulnerable and marginalized—offering relief, empowerment, and hope across Sri Lanka and beyond.

At Al-Hikma, we view humanitarian work not merely as an obligation, but as a moral and spiritual responsibility toward humanity. Our efforts are driven by the principle that helping others is one of the purest forms of goodness, reflecting universal values of kindness, respect, and justice.

Our diverse projects span education, livelihood empowerment, health and nutrition, water and sanitation (WASH), orphan and family sponsorship, and emergency relief. Through these initiatives, we strive to reduce suffering, improve living standards, and help communities achieve self-reliance.

Over the years, Al-Hikma Foundation has built trusted partnerships with local and international donors, community leaders, and volunteers. These collaborations enable us to implement sustainable projects, ensure transparency, and maximize the impact of every contribution.

As the world faces evolving economic, social, and environmental challenges, we continuously strengthen our systems, strategies, and accountability mechanisms. Our vision is to create a compassionate world where generosity and humanity guide every action—and where support reaches those who need it most.

Together, we serve with sincerity, integrity, and dedication—turning compassion into action for the betterment of all.

Message from the Founder

It gives me great pleasure to share a brief overview of the Al-Hikma Foundation, an organization established with a sincere commitment to serve humanity—transcending all boundaries of caste, color, ethnicity, and creed. Under the Foundation’s stable and visionary leadership, we have built a unified mission that reflects our shared dedication to compassion, equality, and sustainable human development.

Since its inception, Al-Hikma Foundation has extended a helping hand to thousands of individuals and families in need. Through our diverse initiatives—ranging from food assistance, emergency relief, medical aid, care for persons with disabilities, livelihood support, agricultural empowerment, and water and sanitation facilities to sheltering the homeless, educational sponsorships, and vocational training—we strive to uplift lives and restore dignity

By the grace of the Almighty, we have also supported those affected by conflicts and natural disasters, ensuring timely assistance during moments of hardship. The establishment of the AlHikma Sweet Home for underprivileged children stands as a milestone achievement in our journey of compassion and service.

In addition, Al-Hikma Foundation continues to play a vital role in enhancing the educational standards of traditional religious institutions in Sri Lanka. We are proud to have established one of the country’s first comprehensive orphan care and educational centers, offering both academic and moral development opportunities for children from vulnerable families.

Our ongoing programs include Madrasa education for children, clean water projects, livelihood grants, and educational aid, each designed to empower communities and nurture self-reliance.

On behalf of Al-Hikma Foundation, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our partners, donors, and well-wishers whose generosity and trust continue to make our mission possible. Together, we are building a future of compassion, hope, and opportunity for those who need it most.

I warmly invite all like-minded individuals, philanthropists, and organizations to join us in this noble endeavor of serving humanity and spreading kindness across communities.
