Ramadan is a time of reflection, compassion, and generosity — values that lie at the heart of AHF Sri Lanka’s humanitarian mission. During this sacred month, AHF Sri Lanka and its local partners implement a range of support programs aimed at assisting vulnerable families who struggle to meet their daily needs. The focus is on ensuring that communities observing the fast are able to do so with dignity and without hardship.
Food assistance initiatives are a central component of the Ramadan program. Essential dry rations, including rice, lentils, oil, dates, and other staple items, are distributed to low-income households, widows, and families affected by economic challenges. These efforts help reduce food insecurity and provide much-needed relief during a period of spiritual devotion.
In addition to material aid, the program encourages community solidarity and inclusivity. Collective iftar gatherings, community outreach, and volunteer-driven activities strengthen social bonds and promote the values of compassion and equality.
Through these initiatives, AHF Sri Lanka reaffirms its commitment to supporting communities not only in times of crisis but also during significant cultural and religious observances, ensuring that the spirit of Ramadan extends to every household in need.
