Green Project

The Green-Project is a flagship initiative of AHF Sri Lanka focused on promoting environmental sustainability and climate-resilient communities. Recognizing the urgent need to address environmental degradation and resource scarcity, the project empowers communities to adopt eco-friendly practices that improve both livelihoods and local ecosystems.

Through tree planting campaigns, waste management programs, and the promotion of sustainable agriculture, communities are equipped with the knowledge and tools to reduce their environmental footprint. Training sessions on composting, water conservation, and renewable energy solutions enable households to implement practical, low-cost interventions that benefit both the environment and their quality of life.

The Green-Project also encourages collective action. By mobilizing local groups to maintain community gardens, plant trees, and manage natural resources, the program strengthens social cohesion while fostering a sense of shared responsibility for the environment.
