Qurban

The Qurban Program is a vital humanitarian initiative of AHF Sri Lanka, carried out annually to coincide with the celebration of Eid al-Adha. Rooted in the principles of sacrifice, compassion, and sharing, the program ensures that vulnerable and low-income families have the opportunity to partake in this important religious occasion with dignity.

Through the generous contributions of donors, livestock such as cows and goats are procured and distributed across selected communities. Meat from the Qurban sacrifices is carefully portioned and delivered to families who rarely have access to protein-rich food throughout the year. This not only fulfills a spiritual obligation but also supports improved nutrition and community wellbeing.

The implementation of the Qurban Program is conducted in close coordination with local partners and community leaders to ensure transparency, fairness, and adherence to religious guidelines. In addition, the initiative strengthens social cohesion by fostering unity and mutual care among different groups within the community.
