Aqiqah

The Aqiqah Program is a meaningful initiative of AHF Sri Lanka that enables families and donors to fulfill the Islamic tradition of Aqiqah while extending its blessings to those in need. Rooted in gratitude and compassion, the program provides an opportunity to celebrate the birth of a child through charitable giving that benefits underprivileged families and communities.

Through the Aqiqah Program, livestock such as goats or sheep are sacrificed in accordance with Islamic principles. The fresh meat is then distributed to low-income families, orphanages, and vulnerable groups who seldom have access to nutritious meals. Every stage of the process — from procurement to distribution — is conducted with full transparency and adherence to religious and ethical standards.

Beyond its religious significance, the Aqiqah Program embodies the spirit of sharing and social responsibility. By transforming a personal act of faith into collective benefit, AHF Sri Lanka strengthens community ties and promotes the values of compassion, equality, and care for the less fortunate.
